The NICU is well supported by a vast team of pediatric sub specialists who are available for consultation and treatment. Should an infant need to be transported to Sunrise Childrens for care, our NICU Transport Team is available at a moments notice.
Treatment and care is state-of-the-art and includes modalities such as: nitric oxide, high-frequency ventilation, latest methods for surgical and non-surgical treatment for cardiac, neurosurgical and GI conditions. The NICU utilizes specialty infant beds designed for the safe monitoring and stable environment that high-risk infants require. To ensure safe medication administration, Sunrise Childrens Hospital uses the most advanced pharmacy safety measures and has a dedicated infant/pediatric pharmacy staffed by trained pediatric pharmacists. The teams in the NICU include experts who place specialized IV lines and respond to high-risk newborn deliveries. All these measures ensure the highest level of care for the most fragile infants. In addition, families are provided additional support through child safety and CPR classes as well as sibling classes.
